The Resurrection of Judy Rhines

The Resurrection of Judy Rhines, co-created by artist Gabrielle Barzaghi and playwright Peter Littlefield. Gabrielle drew some 20 dioramas on cardboard in which Judy Rhines – a legendary figure in Gloucester lore – goes on a walkabout in the Dogtown woods. Peter and Gabrielle worked out the narrative together with the drawings set up as a tour. Come on down and see the movie!

When Gabrielle Barzaghi and Peter Littlefield presented their installation, “The Resurrection of Judy Rhines,” at the White Ellery House last fall, it included a radio play, “the beginning of the end (of Judy Rhines).” Then, finding it hard to let go, they decided to “illuminate” the radio play with 60 drawings by Gabrielle, edited into the sound track, according to instruction that Peter inserted into the script.
